What is wrong with people

I have to share a funny story and I don't know if it will reflect poorly on me or the other person. So we are at the grocery store and the sales clerk says: "Your baby doesn't have any front teeth, what happened?" Well anyone who knows me really well can probably guess what I said next. I said: "We are huge Twilight fans and wanted her to be a vampire for Halloween so, we had them pulled." Now, I don't think that this is the bad part of the story. The truly best part is the look on the sales clerk face after I said it. The worst part of the story is I left her thinking we really did do it just for Halloween. I never said just kidding or at any point in the conversation said gotcha. OK,OK, OK so maybe the term conversation is to loose. I mean she stared at me with her mouth open and had a look of utter confusion on her face. I continued to convince her I was completely serious. Maybe due to the North West's alternative lifestyle here and all the "Weird People" I was just to believable. Come on People it was a joke.

Is this a bad practice to have, pulling other people's leg? Maybe it is only bad if you never correct the wild story weaved. I know Grandpa Walter was the best person to do this to. It was so funny to watch him get all worked up. If I ever got him good I never told him I was kidding. He was the most fun to tease. Maybe this is why I fall for everything my younger brother says to me. My stories are to unbelievable. He always just laughs and says you are so easy to tease. Well what do you think am I horrible or is it just harmless fun?

Cake . . .

Lulu and Red celebrated their birthdays with friends and family recently. Lulu got boots and a movie, while Red got pajamas and a video game. They both received phone calls from well wishing relatives, and both were sung to in the traditional fashion right before they blew out the candles on their cakes.

Red's cake was chocolate with a mousse cream center. Lulu's cake was a rich 'Chentelle' cake covered in fresh berries. Which did I eat more of . . . well truth be told I ate more of the chocolate cake. There was more of it, and I hate to see food go to waste. Just the size of the cake allowed us all to have lots of servings. The 'Chentelle' cake is rich, very rich! A little serving of 'Chentelle' goes a long way, so you could have just as many pieces (just smaller) with about the same caloric intake as the other cake. - I can say after a week of cake I don't want to see any cake for a long time. -CRW

Red Gets Baptized . . .

I'm not a marathon runner, nor do I do anything running related. I know myself, and know that I am strong and fairly fast, yet if I were ever to get in a fight I had better win it fast and quick. (Luckily wrestling with my brothers has always gone that route. I destroyed them quickly and made it look effortless.) I know that if it ever took longer than a minute I'm going to tire quickly, and anything that lasts to the second round will not bode well for me. Unlike marathon runners I most likely would fade quickly during a race. I'd collapse, probably passed out from a lack of oxygen or heart palpitations, and wake lying face down in a gutter. That is how it is when it comes to our family and the holiday season.

Halloween is the kickoff of events that our little group must run and survive. The first in a series of nonstop events, just like a marathon, that stretches from the celebration of all things ghoulish to New Year's day. By the beginning of the New Year I am lucky not to find myself in the gutter begging for it all to stop. The foods, the parties, all the get togethers! Just between the holiday's, and the connected sub-holiday parties, we have 5 birthday's - all which are celebrated at more parties . . . 'sigh'! All the socializing - my head hurts thinking about it.

There was one event that I was looking forward to in our family's line of up coming events this particular holiday marathon - the baptism of Red. Congratulations!! I'm proud of the person you've become, and the choices you've made. I love you Red! -CRW

* It's not really all that bad. :-)

What's Halloween Without Costumes . . .

I must admit that I enjoy taking pictures, and wish that I had more time and money to spend setting up photo shoots and buying photo equipment. I enjoy shooting nature scenes, abstractly impressionistic shots, and kids . . . And what better time to shoot kids then at Halloween! Their in the heights of play, not only pretending, but dressing the part of being something different. Some children embrace the scary, others the beautiful and fanciful. Ever year my kids know that besides trick-or-treating, and Halloween parties they are going to have to spend a half hour each doing a photo shoot with dad - and this years winners are: -CRW

Happy Halloween . . .

Well the pizza party is over, and the root beer consumed. The scary movies watched, and the rounds of murder in the dark played. The trick-or-treating is over, and the last of the wax candles is slowly burning out in the jack-o-lanterns.

The girls are in bed dreaming of sugar plums in their heads . . . maybe not sugar plums yet, more likely Mars Inc. and a tummy ache. Each walked away with quite a haul this year. We were able to just keep going, and going on a perfectly cool, full moon night. Happy Halloween! -CRW

Spoiler Alert!

Post Surgery: Our Vampire Baby (Eat your heart out Twilight Fans)

Since my baby Sister has been nagging me for a picture of our vampire baby, here it is. She didn't believe me when I said she looks like a Vampire. What do you think? I hope when the rest of her top teeth come in it won't look so much like a vampire and more like a hill billie.
The surgery went well however, I hope we never have to repeat it again. Fingers are crossed that she can keep these two teeth and they don't need to be pulled also.

CRW's Dad is still living with us. His blood work came back and his cancer is back to high numbers so back to chemo he goes. He looks go though however, he is starting to have some daily pain and discomfort.

CRW won his court case and my husband is amazing!!! CRW's ex-sister in-law, former employer sued him for $24,000. After a year and a half of fighting her in court. And not having Counsel, CRW represented himself, we won! The judge ruled in our favor. We are waiting to hear if she will have to pay our court costs of fighting her in court.

All things CRW, we found out yesterday CRW will not be employed after the end of November. He has applied to work in IRAN, IRAQ, OHIO, ALASKA, ARIZONA, and UTAH. Who knows maybe I can live in a hut in the desert.

The other two diva's are great. Lulu is enjoying dance class. Thank you grandpa for paying for it. Red is loving to learn how to play the piano. Someday, Red hopes to play the piano while Lulu dances.
