This weekend . . .

We were so sad to see Aunt "P" go. We had a lot of fun and packed as much sight seeing in as we could. The weather was great and sunny this weekend. The girls went out on the back deck and showed off their mad skills, Hula style, hope you were impressed Aunt "P". I don't know about the rest of you but I am really ready for blue skies and warm weather to be permanent! The kids are anxious to start swimming outside again. We took Aunt "P" to the airport tonight and LuLu cried the whole way home. She is missing Aunt "P" already. She misses her family and friends back home. If given a choice LuLu would move back in a heart beat.

Red on the other hand was asked this question: "Red would you rather stay here and live, or move back home." This was Red's answer: "I want to live in Seattle." My comment was: "Red we don't live in Seattle and that wasn't an option to choose." "Mom I know that! That is where I want to live." When given an option of A or B Red will choose option C. Funny things come out of Red's mouth daily. If she didn't make me laugh I might have to sell her to the highest biding relative. We had just gotten back from the coast and our hair looked pretty messy. Red says to Aunt "P":  "P- I want to take your picture." Aunt "P" responds: "Oh honey, my hair looks awful." Red said: "Just do your best." That's my girl. R-

Visitor . . .

Let the fun begin . . . wasting no time we went straight from the airport to one of our scenic stomping grounds. Hate to rub it in, but our weather is looking great for the next couple of days. Sorry the rest of you missed the occasional sunny weather. You'll have to come visit again sometime and get some. -CRW

Grandma's Clowns . . .

My grandmother has a tradition of making all of her grandchildren clowns and blankets. Every new grandchild can expect one shortly after birth, and with our new addition this one represents almost 500 clowns that my grandmother has made for family and friends. As you can see from the pictures if Peiwei as her way, her clown will be the appetizer shortly before she becomes a toddler. -CRW

The Big Event

This weekend was a GREAT ! weekend. We started the weekend off with 75 degrees, blue skies, and sunshine. This weekend was also a long weekend for the kids they had Friday and Monday off. We had two big events happen that I thought I would share.

The first being we blessed the new little one. She slept the whole weekend and straight through her baby blessing. CRW was grateful because the week before a baby had been blessed in church and the baby screamed through the whole thing. When CRW was done with the blessing he and the other guys in the circle looked down at "P" and she was wide awake staring up at the ceiling with a big smile on her face. Everyone laughed and said "she must be happy."  We had a wonderful day and wished you all could have been there and shared the day with us.

The second event was Red learning how to ride a two wheeler. Red has been riding her bike with one training wheel on her bike for a long time. I thought if we didn't pony up and teach her she would always ride her bike leaning to the right. Also, Red kept telling people she could ride a one wheeler because she only had one training wheel left on her bike. CRW took her to the park with lots of flat ground and off she went with little help. By days end she had only run into one pole and two trees. I think we had a little help from her Pediatrician.

Have you ever wanted to climb into a hole and die. This would be at the Pediatrician's office last week with Red. Bless her little heart she only told the truth. First question from the Dr. was "What do you sit in when you get in a car?" "I don't know, the seat" said Red. The Dr. says you mean a booster seat with a seat belt. Red says "No mom says I can just sit in the seat with a seat belt and I don't have to use my booster seat anymore." The Dr. raised his eyebrow and goes on a very long explanation of why Red still needs to be in a booster. Next question "What do you wear when you ride a bike?" Red says I don't know. The Dr. says "A bike helmet." Red says "My dad said I don't need one because he didn't wear one growing up and he is just fine." once again we repeat what happened after the first question. Third question "Do you know how to ride a bike?" With pride Red declares "Yea I can ride a one wheeler." the Dr. let that one slide without an explanation. However he did make the comment that at her age she should know how to ride a bike without training wheels. Fourth question was "Can you tie your shoes? "Oh that's easy I learned last week" I was glad CRW got inspired to teach Red the week before otherwise I might get another raised eyebrow. The last question to add to my unease was "How many hours a day do you watch TV or play video games?" With a big smile because she knows the answer she tells the Dr. "All day" What can I say she is spending a little more time doing these activities since the baby was born.

After turning bright red and feeling very uncomfortable I have repented and changed my ways this week. Red's booster is out of CRW's car and in the van since she is hardly ever in his car. Red now knows how to ride a two wheeler. We went to Target to get a bike helmet. And last but not least T.V. and video game playing has been drastically cut back. Can't wait to see what questions are asked at the next years check-up.

R- Finally Posts . . .

Well I can see that if I leave the birth story up to CRW not only will it take a life time to tell but it will be slightly incorrect. With this being the first time I post on my blog I hope you will be gentle. I do not have a gift of words and promise not to be as entertaining as my husband. Just to set the story straight I had a dream that I peed my pants when I woke up from the dream I was very disoriented due to the lack of sleep you get at the end of your pregnancy. I was trying to decided if I had dreamed that I peed my pants or if I actually had. In my dream state I locked my legs and tried not to pee my pants. When I got to the bathroom I thought if I peed my pants I would smell it. With that being said on we go with the story.

After the hospital determined I was actually in labor and indeed my water had broke we sat. The doctor on call said we would have to wait until my blood work came back normal so they could allow me to deliver. Piper cooperated because all my contractions stopped at this point and we waited. From 3:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m Monday morning on March 17th we waited. After the third blood draw we got the OK to start labor as they did not want me to sit to long without going into labor because of the risk of infection. At this point we have seen the doctor once! At this point the nurse starts pitocin and into labor I went. The next 45 minutes are blurry because not only do I go from 2cm to 7cm I can not get my epidural. After I hyperventilate I decide no drugs is a bad idea and wait an eternity to get my epidural. At this point CRW is reading over my shoulder and is telling me it was only an hour until I got my epidural. I guess my husband does not want to live through the night. The nurse, CRW, and I get me to the point of no return with still no doctor in sight. With the nurse yelling at me to stop pushing and trying to find the doctor I try to put mother nature on hold. Finally the doctor comes in and says "I am not ready I don't even have my gloves on." I'm thinking are you for real I have been here since 3:00 a.m. in the morning and your not ready. I tell him he has time to put some gloves on to deliver my baby and that a bare gloved delivery is not an option for me!! CRW tells me at this point the top of the baby is visible I will take his word for it because I was a little busy. While my absentee doctor is trying to put his gloves on and drop the table for delivery her head pops out. At this time the doctor starts yelling at me to stop pushing. By this time I am thinking why is everyone yelling at me this baby wants to come NOW and it is not my fault you people are not ready! The doctor tells me he is going to help her shoulder come out, but Piper has her own ideas. Her left hand pops out and I hear "Oh you little turkey."  The doctor then says "Do you want to deliver your own baby?" He has CRW and the nurse sit me up and I reach down and pull my baby out. Left holding her I am thinking now what? He then tells me to put her on my chest and has CRW unsnap my gown at the top. He clips the cord delivers the placenta and leaves. The nurse finishes everything up after that. At this point I am thinking, I am so glad I get to give the doctor all my money to deliver my baby only to have me do it myself.

Piper comes into our lives at 6 pounds 15 ounces, 20 inches long, head 13 1/4 inches big. On St. Patrick's day March 17th, at 4:16 p.m. Her full name is Piper Ophelia. Baby and Mom are doing good and all is right in the world. The baby's eyes are the standard blue gray. The hair color is brown with hints of red, only time will tell if we have another red head. So far she has been a good baby, less fussy than our other two. We love her. -R
